Default Hooker headers

i can buy hooker competition headers on sale for 360 bucks (a little cheaper than pacesetter) with o2 extensions and all the bolts and seals and free shipping !...just wondering how hookers rate vs. everything else...and is this really that good of a deal ?

If they're new that seems like a great deal, particularly with the o2 extensions, gaskets, bolts, etc. I know I've really enjoyed my hookers , so I say pull the trigger!

I have used the Hooker Headers on several dyno tests. 1 3/4" AND 1 7/8" both fit well and made good power.

The gaskets and the bolts are not the best but they work.

I prefer a high end gasket and bolts with a integral washer. But that is just me.

my hookers fit perfectly. no grinding or hammering of anything. the pacesetters i installed on a friends' car did. if the gaskets they come with are paper don't use them. i used felpros but gm ones are good too. definitely worth the money.

power wise they'll be right around the same as any other longtubes. i would never pay $800+ for headers that might make 5 more hp. they're well worth it.

yes they're as good as the pacesetters. the fitment is great on the hooker lt's, they slip right in. do not use the paper gaskets that come with the headers and buy new layered gm gaskets or re-use your old gaskets

Those 2 are probably the closest to each other that I can think of. Are they coated? I would get new gaskets anyway if the old ones were used, unless of course if they are the dead soft technology style and can be easily reused.

yes they are coated longtubes 1 and 3/4 primary 3 in. collector....free shipping, gaskets, hardware, and o2 extensions...i was just wondering if they are cheaper than pacesetter because all hookerrs have the EGR no matter what...(it comes with blockoff plates though)

thats a pretty good deal then. Having emissions provisions is always nice if you get in a tight spot with the law/inspection place.

so between the slp lid, ram air, 78mm fast TB, ls6 intake, hooker headers and texas speed x pipe i should see a nice horsepower increase by spring, and i got some sticky mickeys and subframe connectors to help me put it to the ground. i just need to save some money for the x pipe !
