Default air delete question

does anyone know what to do with the vacuum line type thingy on top of the t connector on the air system? for an 2001 ss? looks different then prior air systems. also does having the air code on affect performance until its tuned out? thanks

from what ive seen in the air removal write up, the air system is different on a 01 and doesn't just have a t connector. my 01 has a vacuum line on top of the the saucer looking t connector that goes to some type of electrical device. What do i do with this line? do i just plug it up or take the whole thing out including the line going into the back of the intake?

whats your setup? why dont you just take the whole thing off and have it tuned out later? What vacume line are you talking about the one that sucks air from the stock airbox?

If you can reach back there, yank it from the rear of the intake and put a rubber plug over the nipple. Or just leave the line in place and stick something in there to plug it.

No, if it throws a code for AIR it has no impact on performance.

Maybe nitpicking but the rule of thumb is to cap vacuum lines instead of plugging. I guess the thinking is that a plug could get sucked in.

Pull the 'T' fitting off of the back of the intake and pull the whole diverter valve off of the driver's side of the intake. just plug that one vacuum line back into the back of the intake with the splice.

Follow the plastic line to the back of the intake.. You'll feel what I'm talkin about.

^ IIRC, I don't even think you need to plug it. You can take the T out of the line and just plug the HVAC line back into the intake.
