Default no cats

so i FINALLY ordered my headers and will be doing my entire exhaust this friday. i have one question tho, im running without cats and im not having it tuned right away. do i just unhook the oxygen sensor in the back and leave it like that? (i am having the car tuned just not right away) and will this affect how my car drives leaving it like that or should i get an 02 sim? i know by not having it i will get stared down by a check engine light but i jus wanna make sure im not gonna need a tune right away after doing all this.

You'll be fine. You will get an SES light though.

Just plug it into the bung on the headers.

Plug the front o2s into the bung made on the headers. You will need longer o2s as your factory o2 will not reach the extended header collector. Bosch 13111 is what I use. You can also purchase o2 extensions that allow you to keep your original front o2s.

Remove the rear o2s completely, another option for the rear o2s is purchasing o2 sims, but its not worth the money if a tune is in the near future.

I'll have the extensions & the O2 sim's available for sale next week if yer interested.
I'm in the same boat right now. Tune coming on Monday.
The extensions, I don't know if I'd recommend them, I'd go directly to the 13111's if I had it to do all over again.
The OE sensors won't switch quick enough & you'll still get the SES light.
But the secondary O2 sim's you'd need to eliminate the SES potential.

I don't know how they handle emissions in NY, but here in Texas the tech always looks under my car for the cats. They are there but I have them bypassed since they were setting a ses light. I always pass inspection, but they do look for the cats.
