Default looking for good p/n and supplier for ls1 idler pulley

I am trying to find a good p/n or source for my drive belt idler pulley for the alternator, water pump, power steer. Not the grooved tensioner pulley the smooth pulley(3 inch dia. 1.125 inch wide). I have tried a ac delco supplier they gave me a acd#38006,gm#88909587. Plus o'reilly's gave me a gates #38006. Both of them are different than my factory pulley. The mounting bolt and washer hit the front face of the pulley(the recess is different). Autozone and Napa didn't have it in stock and I hate to order it and have the same problem. I called the dealer and they have to order it and its $69. Its a 1999 Z28.

there is a difference in idler pulley styles.....there was a TSB in 2000 about it.....2000 and up used a different bracket and pulley.....you have to match the bracket with the right pulley.....no mix n match.......the new style pulley is either dealer or special order from dayco....seeing as how you have the older 1....its a stocking part at most stores....unless someone changed the bracket and pulley out on you in the past....dealer was 60$.....the dayco was 45$

Reviving an old thread.

I went to the dealer today to get part number 12564401. It was in stock & the guy went back to get it. I didn't buy it for 2 reasons. 1. it was right at $70, and 2. The hole through the bearing was about .5" dia and the bolt dia was about 5/15" dia. Way too much play between the bolt & the bearing & the washers that came with it didn't line anything up either. Didn't look right to me.

There is a spacer that goes betweem the pulley and bracket that also takes up the difference between the bolt size and bearing ID. I can make you one if you get me the correct measurements.
