Default Ported Fast 92 with pics

I decided to pull my manifold off the car in search for some more airflow, I have heard of some good port work to be worth 10-15 hp on a head/cam setup. I have 451rwhp with a tv.2 cam LS2 shortblock and cathedral ls2 style heads that are also ported. Car also has a 4l60e with a 3600 stall and a 12 bolt with 3.73's that wine like a bitch..

I will be spending alot of time on this manifold, so pics may come slow, as tonight i only got one runner started and am still looking for additional porting work that may be needed.

My main focus is to remove any sharp edges and bulges that may look to restrict or disrupt airflow...

The pic above doesn't do much justice, but that bulge have a sharp lip from the molding process and stuck out a few mm's.. i was able to take it all the way down to be flush and rounded..

I will be following this thread. Some of the pics are hard to see because they are blurry. I know it's not always easy to get the camera to cooperate.

I am nowhere near done, but the "MOUTH" of the runner feels alot smoother, I am not a professional porter, I just do it as a hobby and enjoy learning new ways to get the most out of a combo.. I have alot more work to do, But i feel this little bit on each runner, and runner big end will help the air flow in and fill the intake port a bit better.

I may also do a a bit more and post pics of it on the motor against the heads.

Very sorry about that, i took several and these were the best, camera is kinda cheap, but works, I'll try to take a few further away to see if they clear up.

I haven't got my 92 yet so I am not familiar how they go together. Are you going to port the whole thing or just the runners you can get to from the top?

I'm going to continue all 8 runners at that mouth area, those was the main things i was wrong with the manifold, The inner shell does come aparts after removing a few philips screws..

..I just ran out to my garage and took another look down the inside of the manifold, it doesn't look like there are any sharpe edges on the bottom side, most all of it is pretty smooth and rounded off. Not saying there isn't anything to do, but i don't see anything major.

I'll post up a few pics tomorrow if i decide to remove the inner shell, only other thing was to maybe open up and radius the the inner part of the mouth area...

I'd take those casting "joints" down on the intake horns too. On the inlet side. My 102 had a LOT of rough and sharp edges.
