Default bad balancer (vibration @2500)

I have a 2004 m6 gto and I've noticed it has a slight vibration from 2200 to 2800. Anything after 3000 its smooth as can be. Its not in the drive line. It does it in neutral too. I think I'm going to start with the balancer first. Any ideas?

My 98 W/T-56 has developed the same issue.

OP: Did the balancer fix the issue?

Does anyone have other ideas for the problem?

Thanks!

Could be a flywheel issue also? But the balancer would be easier to start with.

My old Mustang did the same thing. I changed the balancer and it fixed the problem.

I could visually see the balancer kinda wobbling though.

is the balancer on all the way, It's such a tight fit so sometimes its hard to see if its all the way on the crank...

have your been throwing belts off under acceleration? if so, then its crooked. or you might want to step up to an ATI super damper to combat vibration..

installing an upgraded dampner will not help vibrations other than vibrations rooting from the dampner itself. the dampner does nothing but keep engine vibrations out of the accessory drive, and turn it.

if there is a vibration from the engine, this needs to be addressed seperatly, changing the dampner will not cure an internal engine vibration.
