Default How Do You Guys Prevent this Crap from Happening!?!?

I'm trying to get my engine bay cleaned up as much as possible and I don't know how to prevent this from happening again after I clean this up or if anyone else has had this problem, does this happen to you guys or do you guys just clean the area every time it builds up. It's the condensation that drips fromm the AC.

That looks more like dried up radiator fluid to be honest.

Wrap some foam around the metal AC lines, that should stop it from sweating.

mine looked like this under my battery too cause i had a leak from that stupid little over flow bottle that the battery sits on. radiator fluid likes to soak through the paint and bubble up under it. i sanded mine down, and re-painted it. here are some pictures:

battery removed

rust from leaking radiator overflow bottle (stupid design)

partially sanded down, sanded more later but didnt take pics

repainted. looks really shiny, cause the rest is dirty.

you can see the whole removal and install in my build thread, or if you are just really board and feel like wasting a couple days.

Thanks guys, I'm going with the painting process to get rid of it, this is a stupid design, especially next to the battery!

Then of course there were all those great ACDelco side post batteries that leaked in the late 90's.

About 2 years ago my dad called me about his 2000 Silverado and told me the battery had leaked, surprised it lasted that long.

I have rust in that area I need to remediate, since the previous owner didn't replace the coolant reservoir that had a broken battery anchor tab... The result was leaking battery acid, that also corroded half the thickness of the battery hold-down bolt in a spot!
