^ I would call Texas Speed befor you do anything. And you will have to change springs that is if those are stock?

Yes you can install it without removing heads. You're definitely going to have to have new valvesprings, and pushrods as well.

I used 3/16 rods and slid them in the block to keep the lifters from falling when i did mine. Im still on a stock rocker. New push rods and springs come in the kit along with shims to do the swap. Very advisable to swap the oil pump and put a new timing chain.

They say it's required to change out the springs, but I heard People running ls6 springs with aftermarket cams. This is in a 04 z06 btw. Bone stock valve train, unless the guy before me upgraded.

I think LS6 springs are only rated for like 550 lift and the MS4 is 649. You'll need new pushrods. I'm running a MS4 on the stock rockers but I do have the trunion upgrade I just haven't had a chance to pull my rockers lately. While its a part might as well throw a LS2 chain on as well. 45 bucks worth of insurance. Ive heard of people using 5/16 brake line to hold the lifters up or you could get thunder racings tool.

How much time will it take me to remove the heads, swap the valvetrain, and slap them back in there? I don't have the money to get some fully assmebled Heads. Might port the stock ones while they are out. I just don't feel good doing it but i have done it before, Nor do I want someone I don't know working on it.

Swap the valvetrain with the heads in the car, easiest way to do it.

C5s are even easier to do valvetrain/heads with them in the car. Remove the heads and you need new bolts.

Leave them in the car.

Springs are a must.

Why Ms4?

Duh, why did I even ask.

BTW... I think the TREX is the coolest by most standards, it is the biggest so that would make sense.

I wouldn't suggest it...simply because I went thru this, a little more difficult to change the springs on the car as opposed to the bench. Also, I wouldn't want to run stock lifters in an ms4 car. Unless it's really low miles.

Also, just to throw this out there, there are better cam's that will make more power under the curve. Esp with stock heads. Ms4's like compression and timing. I would look into a 228 r or maybe a little larger for cam only. You Will have much better results.

I ran my Ms4 from 100K-116K miles with stock lifters.. Zero issues, still running strong today.
