Would this MAF cause issues?
So the previous owner to my knowledge only did minor work;
Lid
MAF
Plugs + Wires
I went digging to see if my TB was Ported and Polished and it wasn't.
So now im wondering since I got an aftermarket MAF I heard it would be difficult to clear the SeS light if I end up getting one from P&Ping my stock Throttle Body.
Here's pictures. I seriously don't know if this is aftermarket or they just bought a factory one that was powder coated. Looks sweet though. Hopefully a sponsor or someone can tell me what this is.
Im looking to finally get this car some more mods. I feel I have the only stock LS1 anymore
Thanks in advance all,
Lid

Those are possibly "MAF ends" and if they are different
ID than the stockers, missing the center airfoil, etc. will
bend your airflow readings.
You can swap on junkyard stock MAF pieces easily enough
if they're causing trouble. But the MAF is not going to give
you a TB related code or vice versa.

I'd quote you jimmy blue but I'm on mobile at this point.
Is the maf in your opinion from what your seeing going to cause problems down the road? For example tuning wise. I'd like to get a mail tune from frost. But would a dyno tune be better? Thank you.

No codes at this point. But I'm checking with you guys first. I don't feel like going another summer with a SeS light on and thanks I gotta start somewhere. Ill do ported TB then pulley then suspension. This ls1 can't be stock forever

Just because there are no codes does not mean that the airflow is being measured correctly. If the MAF table scaling has not been adjusted (tuned) for the new ends + no airfoil (if it's actually missing), then the engine is not operating @ it's peak ability. Further, the fuel trims are probably maxed out.
After your done w/ the TB porting, have it tuned. The tuner will tell you if he was able to scale the MAF table or if the fluctuation from having no air foil & big ends makes the table scaling inconsistent. Personally, I'd say that it would still be tuneable, but, have read where some tuners have had difficulty w/ consistent scaling under these conditions.
Best advise you've been given is to put a salvage yard MAF in & port the TB. If you do this, can do without a tune. Tunning is the best solution for best engine performance, but, isn't absolutely necessary if you go stock MAF ported TB. Good-luck.
