Question rubbing SLP lid???

i just installed slp's "flowpak" (cai, k&n filter, lid & smooth bellows) and have noticed the top of the lid is rubbing on the underside of my 99 Z hood. it's nothing severe, and it looks like it's pretty much done now, i just guess the hood thought the lid needed some final sanding? just a little patch roughly .5"X1" marred on the lid and a small spot on the hood itself. just curious if this happened to anyone else with an aftermarket lid. the lid may have just been slightly out of place, because i moved it around and now have a better fit on everything. don't know if it's still rubbing or not. also, wondering if anyone actually had their car dyno'ed with and w/o this setup to see how much of a difference this kit makes. any input would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Slp here as well. Lid rubs as well. Did SLP flowpac, LT's, Y-Pipe w/hi flow cats, and Hooker catback, all at once. 40 hp pick up on the dyno. I'm pleased.

It has to do with the smooth bellows. Before getting it, my lid never rubbed. With it, it rubbed, and now I don't have it anymore and no more rub again.

You might have to trim your smooth bellows.

bought the same stupid kit, have the same stupid rubbing problem. my smooth bellows came from slp cut all crooked and because of that, my lid won't even stay clipped down . If I could do it over, no way would i have bought this kit, but it was a newbie mistake like 2 years ago, what are you gonna do?

If the lid isn't staying clipped.. it's probably not on right

The front lip of the lid goes in the groove in the lower airbox.. not in front of it.

yeah, that's what i thought too at first. But the lid is on the inside lip of the air box. Its just that the bellows came cut extremely short and extremely crooked, and it makes lining everything up damn near impossible, making the passenger side of the lid push out towards the nose of the car.

My SLP didn't rub before getting the smooth bellows. I took it off and it stopped rubbing.

My lid rubs and it doesnt fit right. Yes it was installed right, the lid is just not fitting the air box right. I have a tnt ring with an extremely cut bellows maybe a couple inches left of it. But before the ring, it didnt fit right either. I think its a bad design, and im about to go to a TSP Smoked Lid. So any body that want a SLP Belmished Lid for like 50 bucks & shipping, its yours! JP

My TSP never rubbed but it used to pop off from the back whenever I hit the gas really hard. I trimmed the smooth bellows and it stopped doing it all the time but every once and a while it will still slip out of the tabs in the back on one side. I'm convinced it's still the bellows.

FWIW, no rubbing on my SLP lid. Never had anything but the stock bellow on it.
