Default Heads and cam

hey guys im looking into putting new heads and a cam on my 1999 LS1, whats the best combo for maximum gains, especially right off the line?

I just put in a TSP stage 2.5 5.3l head and 228R cam on my 00C5.
after milling the heads and a .040 gasket I went from 330 rwhp to 440 rwhp

go to Texas Speed or vengeance racing to look at some head/cam combos.get a ls6 intake.you will need bigger injectors with a 420+hp levels.

I spec custom cams here at Tick Peformance and we can get you any of the heads mentioned in this thread also.

I usually ask what is your budget before I recommend a cylinder head as there are better options out there most of the time, but if it's out of your budget/price range there is no need listing them.

I suppose I'll roll our stuff into this one too!

For a very budget oriented combo, our Stage 1 LS6's or Stage 2.5 5.3L heads have been proven to make great power without killing the pocket book. Or for premium power at the premium price the aftermarket casting PRC 227's have been making killer power above and beyond what ported GM castings make!

thanks alot guys, Im planning on probably around a $2500 budget or more by next summer. im runnin about 360 hp now and trying to get up to around 450-480 area for next year.
