Default Recommend me a high flowing quieter exhaust system.

Right now my Trans am has a jacked up garbage of a true dual system on it with more kinks than anything, not to mention it drags over everything. I'm using SLP LM II mufflers. Its really loud the way it is and I'd like to quieten it down some if possible without hurting power. I don't want anything thats going to become a restriction later on if I go to a 408 down the road. Its mainly a track car but I do ride it occasionally. What would you guys recommend? I've been thinking maybe a 3" or 3.5" Y into a 4" single or the TSP duals?

build a custom Y with the flowmaster merge (3" in into 4" out, and cuts rasp WWWAAYYY down) and throw a couple of resonators at the rear before the tips. (I used SLP powerflo "mufflers")

Magnaflow is quiet and flows well.
Hooker Aerochamber is probably even quieter, flows well.

Or look for the SLP dual/dual catback or SLP 2OTL, both flow very well and not loud at all.

I had the Hooker catback and when I switched to duals I noticed a big low and midrange gain. I actually still have the Hooker set up.

Catbacks are gay but if ya want a cat back gmmg should be on your list, imo get some nice duals made ,run them all the way back with some magnaflows and you will be a happy camper

A magnaflow with a cutout isnt a bad choice at all,but look up mr.luos duals he had on his old ws6,it had magnaflows and sounded really good, then just do dual cutouts for when ya wanna make noise

I just swicth to a mufflex 4" catback from my SLP D/D and it sounds great and didnt lose anything at the track.Plus I like how it looks hidden(no tail pipes).

I also had a GMMG but it was too damn loud and raspy .

I'd really like to stay dumped because the tips I want to use (all ready have) are 2.25 inlet and I feel like having it ran all the way will let the tips be a choke point. If I go dumped I can just build some brackets and run them as dummies. My main concern is keeping all the power I can and gaining ground clearance but if I can have it quieter it'd be a plus since I drive it to the track. How would a single 4" with either a magnaflow or a dyonmax bullet dumped sound/perform?

I had long tubes/ORY/magnaflow catback on my trans am with an electric cut out. I liked it, the magnaflow was quite but still noticeable and when I raced or wanted to be loud, I opened the cut out.

Hooker Maxflow installed catback style with a single 3" turndown outlet. Quiet in normal driving but plenty loud at WOT. I have a 3" into 3.5" ORY with FM merge on mine; no rasp unless it's really cold.

Here's a link to a write-up a posted about mine, and it contains a link to one of the original threads about this install. https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...-write-up.html

i have QTP longtubes and QTP ORY but i made my own drivers side pipe using an ORY drivers side piece from the Kooks y-pipe. this gave me an extra 2-2.5" of clearance on drivers side, and allowed me to keep the flowmaster merge for the excellent flow. i have Magnaflow cat back and mine is nice and quiet.

The GMMG isn't going to flow any better than a Magnaflow cat-back.
IMO, get a 4" Mufflex if you go with a cat-back.

4" mufflex style with a Hooker Maxflow or a Magnaflow (sound is very similar) I went from the TSP 3" duals to this and did not notice any loss. I made sure to use a Flowmaster 3">4" merge also.

i you want to use a merge that looks better then the Flowmaster, and flows just as good look at the LG merge, Pat G uses it on his Y-pipe for his 508rwhp build. it looks like the merge on the y-pipe in the pictures:
