Default Which Spark Plugs

Bone stock '98 Vette, 100,000 miles.
NGK TR 5 or NGK TR 55. And what gap.
Been so long since I missed with a stock LS1.
Thanks!

How often do you want to change them? If often is no big deal I like copper tips, gapped anywhere from 40-50.....but for a driver id take the OEM equivalent platinum tip. They are pregapped and should last 100k.

Hell, I've never change them before. This is the old lady's car. I don't even sit in it, more less than work on it.
But I just got through putting a balancer on it. Pain in the ***!

The TR5 is the correct plug, gap to .040. The TR55 is no longer correct for the LS motors as it's designed for a .060 gap. Gm has a TSB about a different plug that uses a .040 gap.

If it's not a high performance application why not just go back with OEM ACDelco plugs? Cheaper and lasted you 100k miles so far

A copper tipped plug was never right for any Gen2,3,4,5 engine sorry. OEM has been speccing iridium and platinum tipped plugs for decades. Why we've adopted the old habit of wanting copper tips I haven't figured out yet. I'm running OEM equivalent AC delco in my DD 6.0 Yukon, my previous STS, the old ladys SUV etc. I only run copper on the camaro and I don't have a ******* clue why!

I still run TR55's gapped at... .055

Compression and HP will matter though. Old Camaro in sig had TR6's at .040 .045, can't remember.

I had already bought the TR5's before I posted.
Guest I'll just gap them at .040 and let the band play Dixie!
