Default My "Gyro Gearloose" Intake.

Okay, i though i put this up here only when i have tested this in my car, but seems my real roadtest is going to be next summer, so i introduce it now. Just my stupid experiment, but at least you got the idea.
LS1 intake teared bottom apart and i welded and glued 3mm thick steel plate for sustitute.
I made some pullhammer tests after glueing and sealtest with water and its good. Overall volume is around 10 litres. LS6 volume is about 9,5 litres if im not wrong?
I have to grind narrower walleycover plate to make this fit.

I know people are going to laugh, but i like experiments

I put some pics as soon as i can, they are coming from my phone.

Red residue you can see the pics around the runners are sealant from leak/volume test with water.

Props to you for trying man. Interested to see what happens but don't forget plenum volume is useless unless the intake can actually make use of it. The ls6 and fast runners are much better than the ls1 allowing them to take advantage of the larger plenum. With that said I'm just not sure if the runners will be the restriction or not

Dyno before? Do a dyno run and then port the runners and see what it comes up with once again. Science is fun, but you have to follow all the steps and log everything to come up with a good conclusion.

To be honest i havent never had a chance to compare LS1 and LS6 intake side by side and try to look differences in runners. It would be nice to chop out bottom of LS6 and see and measure the difference there if there is any.

I have tried to look from internet reliable info, but it still remains mystery.

https://books.google.fi/books?id=kL8...volume&f=false

I dont trust this, but if this is true runner lenght is same and the runner volume difference is only 5cc which is not significant.

When you compare top of manifolds they look same so difference is not there?

Hard to believe difference on sides of runners too, so i think difference is bottom of runners if there is any?

The way i did this i can port and clean sharp edges away easily other side of runners too.

I dont think i do any dyno comparison with this. Dyno time is expensive here, so i dont want to spend there for science.

My biggest doubt here is how my glue is going to tolerate vibration and heat cycles in a time.

How are you logging gains or losses? Track times? That was what I was getting at, hard to judge without some form of comparison.

This is going to be in a 400-450hp street driven daily cruiser and my method of comparison is buttdyno. Taking out stock LS1 intake and replace it with experimental and see what happends.
I expect some gains from inside porting and increased plenum volume but hard to tell yet whats gonna happend.
It would be nice to dyno this versus stock one for comparison.
Nearby my garage is opened up new dynoshop and i might ask them how much they take money from two quick pulls.
