Fwiw I gained 5hp across the entire powerband when I put my car on the dyno but I have a typical fbody y pipe exhaust setup so it's kind of apples to oranges. You should put them before the cats, and as far as brand, I had a summit racing brand one and it was absolute ****. It fell apart twice in 6 months

My Badlandz electric cutout from flea bay works like a champ. Its been on the car over a year. The cutout blade gets adjusted almost every time I drive the car. Meaning its not just sitting there closed or opened.

Ive had 2 Badlandz cutouts, one for almost 4 years. And they come with a 5 year warranty.

Right off the headers assuming they are longtubes. Then reduce down to whatever size piping after the cutout. With a 408 stroker I can see you giving up 50hp with 2" pipes, 3 chamber flowmasters, and 1-3/4 headers. That sucker needs 1-7/8ths and 2" would be even better along with 3' duals.

I've had a QTP cutout for about 3 years now, and a DMH for about 2 years before that (until I broke it). The QTP has been holding up nicely though and never gives me any trouble.

I've been using a QTP for about 6 years.

The first one I had for 2 years and it gave me lots of trouble with the butterfly valve not opening and closing properly, however they updated the design and replaced my old one (in lieu of rebuilding) and it's worked flawlessly ever since.

Total roller coaster ride of a customer service experience, however I must give credit to QTP where it's due because they improved their design and made my situation right.
