Default Tsp torquer v4 vs tick sns2 with prc225

I'm having a hard time deciding on a cam for my car. A little about the car it's a 99 ws6 6 speed with a Mwc fab 9 4:11 gears full weight. Car is street driven only with a trip or two a year to the track. I picked up a low mileage ls1 and I am planning on buying prc225 heads and all the supporting valve train this Friday. I will probably reuse the ls6 Intake to save money. I want a cam that will still drive ok and not buck and surge. I like how the sns2 has power down low. I'm not looking for peak hp but useable power that I can feel from the seat. Also car has tsp 1 7/8 headers ory and hooker cat back. Any insight will help thanks

Considering how close they are in duration and overlap, I doubt you could tell much difference between them.

I run the SNS Stage 2 and I really like it. A ton of usable power and on my combo, it continues making power past 6500 RPM's.

What's your setup? Stock heads? Have you ever had it out to the track?

If the LSA is similar on the tv4 then there really is no reasonable difference between the 2 cams like thunderstruck already mentioned

The TV4 is available in several LSA but the "standard" according to TSP site is 111 lsa which makes the overlap the same as the other cams at ~10*

So OP really can't go wrong if he gets the Tick cam on a Cam Motion core or the TSP on a Callies core.

Steer away from the Tick on a Comp core even if it's cheaper.

I'm aware of the comp cores having issues. Either one available on other cores. I'm
Not familiar with Callie's cores though

Here is a link to the Callies cam cores if you would like to look them over. http://www.callies.com/components/camshafts/ They are a superior core to start with then we cut them using our TSP lobe profiles and finish everything in house.

Just an FYI, right now we are having an AMAZING sale on our cam kits. Our cam kit with cam, pushrods, and dual valvesprings w/titanium retainers are $130.00 off our already low price until the end of the month. If you are looking to buy a cam now is the time to do it! We can also do a custom cam for the same package for only $30.00 more.

Give us a call if you have any questions (512) 863-0900.

Setup is my signature. Not stock heads. AI CNC ported Dart/RHS heads. Have not been to the track yet.

How come on your website a cam package is $180 off but when I went to order heads cam and a bunch of other stuff for close to $3600 I could only get $150 off?
