Default Got my Jantzer Ported TB........PICS

Just got this thing in the mail today. A little bit of a wait (5 weeks), but it got here! It looks AWESOME, to say the least. I went with the chrome smoke color, and it tunred out really nice. The spring and the cylinder thing have been polished. The shaft where the cable sits has been powdercoated black. It looks like the bump stop has been ground down some. Can't wait to get it on the car! Here are some shitty pics...

Look at the throttle blade closely

Looks like a nice piece!
What kind of gains does Jantzer claim?

I am not sure. I'm hoping for a good 5-10 rwhp, somewhere in there.

Just got back from a test ride. I noticed a definite increase in power and throttle response. The blade makes a squeaking noise when opening and closing from the blade rubbing on the inside of the TB. Hopefully it will go away over time. I also now have some idle problems. The car holds at about 1100 RPM and doesnt drop until the car is stopped. It takes awhile to drop too, maybe 5-7 seconds to get back down to 700 RPM. I lowered the idle screw all the way. The hole in the plate is the same size as the one in the stock one. Not sure whats going on. Anyone have any ideas?

The install took about 15 minutes. Taking the stock TB out was cake. I even did some PCV work while I had it off. I torqued the bolts to 8.5 ft-lbs.

Put some miles on the car. Let the computer learn. See if that helps.

Great looking TB!

Dude.... I got one and had the same problem. It sticks on opening and won't close all the way without me blipping the throttle. I was going down the road at 35 MPH with my foot off the gas. It was on my car for all of 10 minutes before I took it off and am sending it back for a refund. Im sticking with my Thunder Racing one which works perfectly. I was just looking for a little touch of bling. This after a long wait and hearing from so many others who recommended it.

good luck

Its because of the filled in IAC holes. The computer may learn it out.

Question

Is the little hole in the blade mandatory?
And what are the differences in years? '98 the same as '99 and then '00-'02 the same as well?
Is it just the cam lever size that's different and which years had the bigger one?

The '98-'99 F-body throttle bodies have a smaller cam compared to the '00-'02 F-body TB's
- The smaller radius throttle cam opens the throttle plate faster

Ok thanks.

What about the hole in the blade, can a car idle/run/go fast without it?

When I put my TB on it did the same thing, just put some miles on the car and it will go away. It takes some time for the computer to learn.
