Magnaflow and cat
Thanks for all the great info you guys put out.
After much reading here I have decided to go with the magnaflow cat back. The car will not be raced. I just want it to sound real good. My question is. Should I go with a high flow cat? Will it increase the sound? I heard the cat back on a 97Z. Really sounded good but was almost not noticable at idle.

If you're really just looking for better sound, I would just go with the catback and leave the catalytic converter alone. If you don't have emissions, see if you can't just get the cat removed altogether.
The Magnaflow alone will wake the car up.

If you are just looking for a sound increase and not really a power increase (I hate to do this) but a Flowmaster may be what you want. Almost no power gain, but they sound good on stock manifolds. Especially on LT1's

I can tell you from personal experience, I have a '00 SS with a magnaflow cat-back and nothing else done to it. The idle is quiet and smooth, but when you open it up people definately know where you are. It sounds amazing and I would highly recommend it to you.

I just put a magnaflow on my stock Z28 (well I have a lid). I LOVE it. Really woke the car up, it's not obnoxiously loud just has a beautiful mellow growl to it now. I'm really really happy with it.
