Default Engine Guys, I Need Serious Help

ok, guys here is what i got, i got home on wednesday night, after being on duty for 12 hours...went to bed, got up went to go to work, and car wouldnt turn over, thought it was something simple like the battery, tried to jump it, nothing happened. didnt even make the clicking noise for it trying turn over, so i thought it was the alternator, wasnt that. so my friend *mechanic for 13 years* thought it was the starter, so i bought one from autzone..installed it, ground is good, connections are solid, but the car still wont turn over, i have intieror lights, and headlights work, door still chimes, also when i was trying to turn it over, the clock would go out, plus, i dont have guage bezel, meaning it doesnt light up, ex (seatbelt icon, or SES light) ok thanks for the time and effort, i know we LS1's look after our own

Could be a lot of things. If battery and starter are good...
A4 or M6? nuetral safety or clutch switch could be bad.
Ignition switch not likely since your radio goes off when you try to start it. I'd safely jump the starter manualy to make sure the connections are for sure OK, then start backing up to fuses, relays, and switches.

Any aftermarket electronics? If you've got something wired into a "hot" (power even when key is off)fuse, it could be drawing power. I had this happen on a buddy's aftermarket tach. Switched it over to a non hot fuse.... battery never died after that.

is your antitheft light on.i had a similar problem,i somehow activated my antitheft and it would not start.i had to let it sit for a half hour before it would start.if your light is off then it is probably your nuetral safety switch, try starting it while moving your shifter through the gears(prnd, dnrp) to see if its not just misaligned.

I might have missed something, kinda tired after working 12, did you pull the battery connections and clean? Especially if you have the original AC Delco? Those things are notorius for leaking around the side terminals. Mine stranded me, it leaked/corroded so bad after a thorough cleaning it stranded me the next day. Then I bought a new battery, problem solved. Hope this helps.
