slp isn't too trustworthy on their horse power gains. unless they think that the fender badges give you a lil extra hp don't know the real gains, haven't heard from anybody with this package or any of the other slp packages. the big things are just the exhaust and lid. sum people say the lid doesn't fit well, others say it fits perfectly. don't really know about the exhaust, but i know there are much better ones out there. doesn't the ss come with slp options??

Well, I would think it isnt to hard to get 350 hp out of an ls1 considering most of them already put down between 290-310 stock. Which would mean the hp before drivetrain loss is between 330-360? But SLP usuallly really overrates there hp ratings. But i dont think that achieving 350 hp would be a problem with those upgrades.

EDIT:/ I have an SLP LID (which fits great) and the Loud Mouth II on my car. Both seem like great products, and i have had no problems with them.

I like the way my LoudMouth II sounds compared to the LM1. It isnt raspy, but yet it is pretty loud. There is a sound clip of it on LS1sounds.com. I believe there are to LoudMouth II clips on that page. Mine is the Z28, the other is a trans-am. Listen to both clips, then listen to a normal loudmouth.

I'd cut my big toe off before I bought anything from SLP, well besides their LM or sub frame connectors. I don't know the price but if I had to guess it's going to be overpriced and overrated.

Get a TSP lid and the LM2 if you MUST have a loud catback for cheap. do NOT waste money on those package deals. they're crap.

That SLP package is a waste of money! You'll be lucky to see 315 HP. Shop for individual pieces, and use the for sale sections on this & other boards.

I think the slp 350 horsepower is probably flywheel horsepower. Considering our cars make ~330-345 flywheel horsepower stock, 350 horsepower sounds reasonable with those mods.

Bang for the buck huh?

Buy as used lid w/K&N, or a new one (plain black), a cut-out, pop the screen out of the MAF, and do the free ram air mod. That would put you about 330rwhp (M6). Pretty cheap and great power for around $150-200, depends on how much a muffler shop will charge you to weld in the cut-out.

Peace,
Craig.

Wow... why on earth would you tell him that a k&N and MAF screen delete gain horsepower?

Starting with the K&N. I have one, but hasnt it been dyno tested to MAYBE gain 1hp over a paper stock or fram filter? Only benefeit is that it's reusuable.

The MAF screen delete... this has been proven to make many cars run lean and further more makes tuning the car down the road a serious PITA. Lot of arguments about this but the overall outcome usually ends with the majority and tuners saying to LEAVE IT IN. A stock screened maf can outflow what the mildly/slightly modded ls1 would even be able to use.

And if the screen delete, lid, fra, and a cutout will net you 330 REAR Wheel HP, then damn... I must be putting down 360+ hp with the mention mods(minus the screen delete), smooth bellow, long tube headers and ORY with a handheld tune.

Whoa settle down cheif.

K&N will flow more air, I think I should know that after having 3 LS1's.

MAF screen? PULL IT OUT! On SOME cars (all A4's) they can run lean with JUST the screen out. THIS guyasking has a M6.
Its the guys that put MAF ends on (or port/polish) AND pop the screen out run lean.

If you have all the bolt-ons and tuning you could get 360rwhp, maybe. But your 2000 would need the LS6 intake.

If you'd like I can post my friends dyno where he put down 342rwhp (I think) and like 350rwtq with just a LID + CUT-OUT + TUNING.

My T/A did 360rwhp with a lid, Borla (closed), LS6 cam and tuning.

Peace,
Craig.

Here is my buddies dyno with just a lid, cut-out, and a good tune (BTW- 339 not 342rwhp my bad):

With all the bolt-ons, LS6 intake, and a good tune on your car, if you don't hit somewhere between 350-360 RWHP then something is wrong with your car or its one of the less powerful LS1 motors ( no offense).

Peace,
Craig.
