I ran this combo for about a year. but i was running it with a TR 224/224 Cam so i couldnt tell you how much i picked up with just the exhaust but i went from 308/318
to 370/363 with the Cam and complete Hooker exhaust. I also had a lid and asp pulley.

Sounded great, a little rust began to form around the bottom part of the collectors when i took them off about a year later.

I had trouble getting the Hooker catback to fit right with the Hooker Ypipe, we had to cut a bit of the Ipipe off to get her to fit right.

All longtubes make basically the same power.

The hooker cat-back is known to flow pretty well and sound good, even without cats. You can find plenty about it through search and www.ls1sounds.com.

Yes, even coated headers will rust on the surface in wet/salty conditions.

You are fine on quality issues with hooker.

I don't see anything you can't find with a search. People aren't always keen to post up answering questions like this.

Hooker also sells stainless steel versions now,TByrne and I think Thunder or Speed Inc sell them. I actually plan to get those a TSP Y for the Hookers, and a Hooker cat-back.

sorry, search wasnt working when i posted this, and i didnt feel like looking through 10,000 documents to find one thread that suited the discussion.... lol

if i didnt have a broken wrist i would have a little bit more of a strive to not create another thread about somthing that is already out there....

sorry and thanks guys, found a set of uncoated hooker supercomps..... for a nice price.... so i think imf going to jump all over it.... and when my wrist gets better.... ill have to pop them on.....

also looking into getting rid of my egr.... should i buy a set of headers from 02 and newer? and just get a blockoff plate for egr in the intake? will removal of the egr give me any added horsepower?

anyone have a link for installation of ls1 headers?

thanks in advance

If you think there is ONE thread here that will offer info on:

1) Gains of longtube headers
2) Possible quality issues with hooker headers
3) General comments on hooker headers/y/cat-back

you need to REthink that, and try searching next time. There is TONS of info on this very easily available through search.

I'm sorry, but I was just curious if v DaN 02 and I were the only ones having problems with the search feature on LS1Tech, not that it doesn't work efficiently at finding things you search for when you you search properly. Just that it doesn't work, 95% of the time at finding ANYTHING.

I can understand that. But by the way you speak of endlessly looking through tens of thousands of documents I don't think you realize exactly how much there is to find through a proper search, regardless of whether or not search function was working when you made this post. You only have to type a few words MAX per search...much less typing than starting a new thread of your
