It's not that hard, like others have stated, just take your time. A small, thin drop light will help you see under the cowl for where the rear plugs need to go. I think i spent 4 hours on mine as well. Good luck!

Don't forget to remove the stuff on the back of the intake. I can't tell you how many I've seen break something off back there

yup.... first time i had the intake off i snapped it... but i just installed the fast ls-x intake over the weekend... took me a while by myself, but it's very straightforward and pretty easy... just time consuming if you don't have a helping hand. go to auto zone or something and get the fuel rail disconnect tool (absolutely neccessary)... cheap, easy, just be patient while removing it. yea ls1howto.com has a great write up on it, AND fast comes w/ instructions... use some 1/4" hose and cut it in 1" lengths and slit it down the middle of the hose. cut 5 of those and when you get the 5 most rear ward bolts ran out, lift them up and put the hose around the bolts so you can lift the intake out. (they wont come all of the way out becuase of the cowl). that worked BEAUTIFULLY for me. good luck man.

Excellent idea, I used tape, but that was a PITA. I'm gonna try your idea when I remove my intake to lay down a little more silicone for a good seal.
