Default stage 8 header bolts?

so once i order a set of duals the headers will finally go on, been sitting in my room sence July

anyways i just wanted to know what i need, so far i have a set of hooker LTs with block-off plate already on them; AIR, EGR and rear O2s are already deleted from the car, i have O2 extentsions, i know i will need to get some new GM MLS gaskets

now i bought the headers new from a guy on here and he gave me his old header bolts and said to use those, he never had a problem with them, so my question is: do i reuse my stock ones?, just use his bolts straight up to the headers?, use his with a washer between the header and the head of the bolt?, or buy a set of Stage 8 header bolts?

and one last thing, im going to order TSPs TDs, do they come with clamps to the headers or do i need to buy a couple of band clamps

Stock header bolts will be fine. Torque them to 18ft/lbs.

i was gonna use stage 8 but the little washer things didnt quite reach the header tubes well and not to mention they are a pain in the *** to put on . I can only imagine how fun it would be to remove them a few years from now if u ever had to

Fire her up once you've got them torqued, let it idle to heat up to operating temperature, then once it cools, torque them again to prevent leaks.

I tried to use the Stage 8's on my driver's side, wound up crossthreading one in the front bolt hole. It looked perfectly straight, then went crooked in the last 3-4 turns. When I tried to back it out, I was really careful, 'cause stainless has a tendency to strip and then snap off if you go too fast, but it snapped anyway.

STAY AWAY FROM STAGE 8 LOCKING BOLTS!!!

Luckily me and a friend of mine got the bolt back out and the hole was salvagable. Attached is a pic of what might happen to you if you use these bolts.

Ive used stage 8 alot and they dont rust. You just must be careful with all bolts to put them in straight. They are superior to stock. When you take them out later it will come right out. Just dont use the lockers that come with them, ive never used them and always they stay put.

Same here. I didnt use the clips either, and havent had to retighten yet. Like was mentioned, they dont rust, and they look good. No one I know has had any problems with them.

The only hard thing was getting the clips on and a magnetic screw driver made that a lot easier.
