Leave him alone...it is one of the best sounding cat-backs out there when teamed with the stock manifolds and cats.

The factory replacement 80 series will fit pretty much where the stock muffler is, depending on how you cut it. You may have to add a little pipe if you cut too much off of the outlet pipes, but other than that it's a direct fit.

ls69ta apparently you have never been there on this muffler install.

80 Series Crossflow Muffler, 2.50" IN (O) / OUT (D) 42583 will not just fit in!!!! its about 10 inches shorter and requires a good bit of tight welding and more than just a little pipe. it will need special adaptors that are longer in size than standered ones.....i had to prefab mine. it looks great but will take some time and skill. hope this helps others.

A new Y-pipe won't do anything and the corkmaster won't do much. Why do you wan't such a restrictive muffler? You can have a better sounding muffler without putting such a restrictive one on. If you're looking for a performance gain, don't go with the flowmaster.
