Question AMW Catch Can - Worth the $200?

I did use the search, but was unsuccessful in finding a similar thread.

I will be installing a FAST 90/NW 90 setup in a few weeks, and as you can imagine, I don't want my 1100$ investment being filled with oil in a few hundred miles.

From what I can gather, AMW produces the best catch can. The cheapo eBay jobs are hollow and their integrity is questionable. I don't want to build my own. I've read mixed results from those using the vented cap/truck PCV combo, and I don't want my LS1 to whistle, which is one of the complaints I've heard from that PCV.

Is AMW the only other option, or is there a cheaper, yet as-effective proven option?

$160 for the can + $25 for the bracket + $8 for shipping is absurdly expensive for an oil catch can, but they are nice quality pieces with proven results, and I've already spent $1100 on the intake setup.

Opinions?

FWIW I had one and sold it. It was a high quality piece, but I did not need it. I run 5w40 synthetic oil and the catch can would barely have anything in it.

I think that there are a few "knock-offs" that are completely functional on ebay. Actually I know there are.

The ONLY way to not get a single molecule of oil in your intake.

Does that cause a crank case pressure issue?

https://ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iii-external-engine/428410-pics-greddy-catch-can-install-56k.html

Here's my ebay catchcan installed. I've got the greddy one, but the knock off greddy version is just as good and about 1/2 the price.

Theres some good info in that thread about what size to get, and what hoses to use.

After their 100% price increase I'd say they are no longer worth it. Plue I made a bracket identical to their $25 bracket out of some scrap metal and a couple coats of spray paint.

Tell me more. How do I do that? Are you saying to just get a breather instead? Basically I filter out to the air?

Thanks for the link. It's a little different on the LT1 but I was able to follow. I think a breather would be better for my application. I've heard an idea of using the stock air pump to suck air out but you would still need the catch can. I'd rather keep a simple setup. Thanks again.
