Default Short belt mod ?

Has anyone seen any real performance gains for the short belt mod, is it actually worth the money to get the belt just for the track...anyone do any back to back runs?

The short belt mod can get you up to 7 RWHP dyno proven since it bypasses the power steering. You use a belt with a part# 538K6. Dont forget to remove the lower bolt on your alternator or you'll shred the belt.

you use a shorter belt so the only pullys you use are, tensioner, crank, altenator, water pump. no power steering

Also, I've never run my ac belt eigther. If you spin the ac pulley by hand that thing is heavy! It must be such a relief for the engine not to rev it up every gear.

When I took that belt off I could feel the difference the first time I drove it. I never use the ac anyway.

I agree with this. My A/C belt snapped last Saturday, and I could tell the difference right away. At the same time I also have more drag going on with the Prochager pulley. Either way I felt the difference.

The part number is for a ASP pulley. I'm not sure if ASP makes pullies with different underdrive ratios, maybe someone can chime in?
