Plug up AIR hole in lid??
I was just wondering what you guys have been using to plug up the hole left behind in your lids after deleting the AIR system. SLP told me they sell the grommet, but they want $3.95, which I would have paid, but then he adds in that there is a $25 order minimum. Well I already bought everything I could possibly want from them and have spent a lot of money there but I guess that doesn’t matter. Anyways I’ve been trying to find a blind grommet like the one SLP uses but I can’t.
I really would like to use a rubber hole grommet because I think it would seal better than a harder plastic mistake plug.
I also don’t want to run a breather so that’s out of the question.
Any suggestions?
I guess I could get a snap in plastic/metal one and RTV it from the inside.

Just go to home depot or something like that and find something that is a size that will securely plug the hole. Im sure they will have something and it will more than likely be cheaper than 4 bucks.

Buddy of mine used an expandable freeze plug (like people use to plug their intake when doing !EGR). Just measured the hole and picked one up at Autozone.

Hey I just plugged mine. Go to Home Depot and go to the plumbing section by the PVC piping. They sell small plasic plugs for 45 cents that fit perfect. Sand it and spray it black and it works and looks great. Leave the rubber fitting that came with the lid in place, that seals it even tighter.

SLP from lookin on their site uses the same lid mold for all lids, because the 98-99 lid has a plug in it, the plug i was trying to get. I guess it was too expensive for them to have another run of lids going that didnt have a hole lol all they had to do was remove the core for the hole from the mold. anyways take a look at the pic on their site and ull see what i mean
