Default Porting Pasesetter Y

when installing my pasesetter brand Y pipe i noticed where the driver side pipe meets the passenger they seem to cut the hole pretty small.

my question is would there be a gain from going in there and removing as much material as possible?

im guessing this is why people get the texas speed pipe right?

I had a Texas Speed Y and the merge there had a lot
of stick-in; I ported that but then found a Jet-Hot
(ditto). Just seems to be some poor fit-up in these
Y-pipes that use a "T" style merge. I guess they
prefer to err on the long side, rather than deal with
blow-through or pinholes welding up a short or zero-
overlap fit.

It may be difficult to get to; I had to use a flex-shaft
tool inside a piece of shop-vac tube to reach up in
the Jet-Hot. I think it's worth it, to remove any dog
whistle features you can.

There was a big lip on the inside of mine that I removed. I'd say it's definately worth removing. I didn't have any trouble getting to it with my dremel tool.

My TSP x-pipe had a bit of an overlap too. My uncle took it to work, chopped it in half on a bandsaw, cut out the overlap, then welded it back together.

I would say no. Mine wasn't installed, and wasn't getting installed for a few weeks. It was also free.

Mine looked as though it was covering half the hole. I would take the Y pipe off to cut it. Why leave power on the table when you paid for it?
