Default Are macs right for me?

I have a 98 m6 t/a with subframes, nittos, ripper shifter, lid, and cutout right now. I'm going to build up my rear suspension (dms signature series package) and then throw some 4.10's in the rear. Beyond that I'm having trouble choosing the headers i'll be going with as the next mod. I plan on putting a hotcam in the car and possibly spraying as well since the cam's split is very nitrous friendly.

The car is a daily driver and won't see a whole lot of track time. I'm mostly looking for an excellent street car for some stoplight fun that would also perform should I take it to the track. As such, i'm looking for my power to be more in the midrange area (too low and I wouldn't hook, too high and I wouldn't use it much on a daily basis). Would mac's be suitable for this application or do longtubes produce more midrange power? I was always under the impression that they performd more at the low end and top end but about on par in the midrange, but please school me.

Thanks!

Glad to hear a happy customer. How did they perform? Did you pick up decent gains across the whole powerband or are they peaking at certain points?

thanks,
Nick

I have Macs too and think they are a great deal. Much less expensive then LTs, and perform great. Fit is perfect too. I'm getting Dynoed tomorrow. PM for results.

Well, I got my dyno results, and I'm happy with them. My guestimation LS1edit tune was dead on, as far as A/F goes!

RWHP- 326.4
RWTQ- 336.4

98 LS1 stock - 290-295 rwhp
Mac's W/ORP - 20-25 rwhp
Lid + Maf - 7-10 rwhp
