Headers???
I'm in the market for a set of headers. I know some torqe / hp can be found with long tube over the short tube but what about possible clearance issues. I realize the ceramic will reduce the temp under the hood and that stainless will not rust. Pros / Cons
My considerations are:
New Hooker long tubes for LS1 into 69 Camaro. Ceramic coated.
Stainless Works long tube headers. Naturally stainless.
S&P short tube headers. Ceramic coated.

Since it's for a ls1 in a 69 Camaro, you might get better/more response in the conversions and hybrid section as far as any clearance issues
FWIW the stainless usually costs ~2x the price of the coated, but last considerably longer (likely for the life of the car) the coated ones are cheaper, but the coating eventually will come off. it may take years, but it will
So do you have/want to spend the $$, or is the budget a bit more limited, if the $$ are there, get the stainless, and have them coated, you get the thermal control of a coated header, and the longevity of a stainless, if you don't have the $$ the coated mild steel will work fine for x time period.
They all give pretty much the same HP increase, so it's really up to you on what you can/want to afford

Thank you all for the input. I'm leanning toward SS although I know I could get the coated sooner. Again all input has been appreciated.
