Default LS6 intake install/EGR??? Help!!!

Ok i have my ls1 intake taken out and all the egr stuff taken off, the LS6 doesnt have the EGR hook up on it. Do I need to take the whole egr assembly off the car and block the hole on the exhaust manifold? If so with what?? Also is that gonna make the car idle surge or throw codes?? I wont get a tune for probable 2 or 3 months when i get a cam install. Im used to working on 5.0s so i dont know jack about these motors. Someone that knows help me out i got the top of the motor off and need it back together tonight.

There are 3 block off plates, 2 for the headers or mainfolds, the last 1 is for where the EGR pump was.. You can make your own plates using the gaskets or order them from one of the vendors, i ordered mine from Thunder then when i upgraded the Headers, i just went with a set for 00-02.. You may get a code, nothing that will hurt the car, but unless there is a leak you wont get any surging.. Hope that helps

You only need one block-off plate(for the passenger side header). You can either make one out of sheet metal or buy one from a sponsor.

It will set a code and the SES light will come on. Drivability will be unchanged. It won't hurt anything.

Yes, no EGR will throw a code but won't hurt until you get them turned off. I'd just make a block off plate for the EGR connection for the manifold. Use the connection on the pipe as a templet.

Im sorry i read that wrong.. if its just the EGR correct its only 1 block off.. Most people ditch the AIR at the same time so i figured you were doing the same..

Probably won't find it at parts store or dealership. Thunder racing and Speed inc. both sell them. or make your own.
