Talking Outlaw True Dual!!! (PICS)

Here are some pics of my car with the True dual setup. I didn't have it on a lift but I got the basics. True dual back from Jet Hot LT's with no cats and over the axle setup with Magnaflow bullet mufflers right before the tips. Stainless exhaust piping is painted with a aluminum color. Very Sweet!!!

It's nice - except for the crimped bends and why - WHY - would ANYONE WELD A SYSTEM TO THE HEADERS???!!!???

I would take it back and have them put clamps, or slip on collectors to join the system with the headers. You will need to disconnect the system some day...

Those looked like Mandrel bends to me from the pics i looked at. Very nice looking system, but like the others said I probably wouldnt have welded to exhaust to the headers.

You are joking I hope. You really think headers just drop straight down? He will never get his headers off with the pipes welded to the collectors. Confused as to why paint SS exhaust? And am I just not seeing an X or an H pipe in the pics?

Who cares dude. It's his , not yours.

And not everyone has to have a god damn x-pipe, so much hype about x-pipes now adays.

I don't run an x-pipe on my car with duals and i make 800+whp. Yup.

It looks great! I just had custom true duals fabbed up by finish line performance in Naperville a few weeks ago. My system looks similar to yours. Used the same magnaflow bullet mufflers. Just out of curiosity how much did Outlaw charge for the job? And what sort of junction did they decide to use?

Thumbs down

WTF are you talking about "dude"? I wasn't telling HotWS6 anything bad about his system, I was referring to Keenov and his "duh" statement about dropping the exhaust straight down, it's not going to happen when it's welded to the headers. And I could care less about your opinion on x pipes either, I just wanted to know if he had one or not.

Are you serious? My TSP True Duals has probably been removed and put back on my car 4 or 5 times in 10k miles. I'm constantly upgrading/replacing parts under there. What are you going to do when you need to replace your clutch? Upgrade your driveshaft? Upgrade your torque arm? The list goes on...

LOL! Overall, the work is ok - but I highly doubt it's stainless, and welding to the headers is just going to be someone's nightmare down the road..

It's stainless, I just wanted it painted, gives it a cleaner look. Yes mandrel bends, and I don't plan on taking it off. I posted these up to show not to get peoples negative comments, I'm happy with it and many people have gave me great comments about it. And there is no X or Y pipe, it pulls! So just thought I would share some...

I'm really not a negative person, and I can imagine how you feel after making the post - then reading the negative things said. But the simple truth is - these:

are NOT mandrel bends. They're crimped from a bender. And stainless looks so nice, you shouldn't have to paint it to look clean - IMO. If you're happy with it - that's great. But it sounds like you probably paid for at least two things you didn't get. Mandrel bends for sure - stainless who knows. X or H, or nothing can be argued all night - but you WILL have to take the system off at some point - and that is going to cost you. Then you'll have to fab up some type of collector/clamp setup, or - heaven forbid - reweld it creating a nice big dirt dobber weld over weld on your nice ceramic coated Jet Hots...

I know stainless looks nice, and I'm not worried about taking them off, I've had plenty of friends who have owned cars with the same setup and never removed them, i wanted it painted so there it be! And ok right at that point mandrel bends?? its not to the point where it would be a problem or lose anything. I'm happy!
