well my kooks werent easy to install but there also the biggest size avalibe (that i could find) 1 7/8 stepped into 2. only the drivers side gave me issues -needed to trim fat off the k member and jack the engine up 3 or so inches.. im sure the smaller sizes would be alil less work.

Hey, I have QTP LT's... the install was an absolute terrible experience. The thing is, im pretty sure i didnt jack the car up high enough to get the right angle to slip the driver's side header in. I also think i got one of the headers from a bad batch of them sent out last spring. For some reason that one batch had alot of complaints but overall im glad i went with QTP's. I only have the LT's and exhaust and i have 334 hp, 345 tq untuned so those are some good numbers.
Oh and btw, dont get their ORY if u are lowerd. I had the sportlines on my car and i literally had 1 inch of clearance with their ypipe w/cutouts.
I have heard that kooks is a very easy install so they are always a good choice too... id go with qtp's if i were u tho.

On the Kooks, 1-3/4 slide right in, any bigger you might run into installation problems. I have 1-7/8 and had trouble with the drivers side. Other than that year and a half down the road and they are still excellent. No Rust and they look purdy. Good luck with the decision.

to birdman LS1, if you had been doing the work on a lift and had a good batch, you think the installation would have gone better?
The only reason i haven't gone KOOKS is because i don't know that they have a catted ypipe, and if so is it 3"?

yes if u had a lift it would be cake. And yes i am almost 100% positive that kooks has a 3'' catted y-pipe. QTP does have one as well but i think neither of those y pipes have good clearance. Kooks would have more so if anything i believe. Thats just from what ive seen. I would get some catted tru duals if i were u .

if that were the cast then go with kooks, but im tellin u, u might regret going with their y pipes... i spent $600 on my qtp with dual cutouts and now they're gonna be gone in less than a few months...

Why not coated Pacesetters with the TSP catted y-pipe?
Seems that with all the discussion re Kooks, Dynatech and QTP which are supposed to be the best, I could save the $500-$600 and go with coated Pacesetters. What am I missing? Getting confused with the decision..Thanks

heres some pics-
awaiting to go in my car..
passenger side-hard to see where its touching but if you know what the k member looks like from that angle you can figure it out easily.
drivers side- where i cut was only to get it to go in, now the close part i dont know if im going to cut to give more clearance or not. plan to get new k member down the road anyway.
