Default FAST Intake Issue

having a fitment issue with the fast 78MM intake i just bought from a friend.
if i put the intake on it looks as if there is still a gap between the head and the intake. (without it bolted)

Has anyone used this intake with the LS6 Valley cover? it seems that my intake is really close to the port at the front. also i am using hax head bolts from ARP for the knock sensor (valley) cover and im wondering if the bolts are too tall. if i remember right the stock bolts are rounded head?

or could i just be retarted because i dont remember if i removed the clip that holds the knock sensor wires down.

I think the valley cover bolts are getting in the way.

Try positioning the intake with the valley bolts removed, this will confirm the situation.

If the bolts are the culprit and if you're in a hurry and you're good with a grinder, you might be able to grind'em down, but be very careful that you don't grind your fingers. Use plyers, or better yet, thread the bolts into something and carefuly grind.

My FAST 90 fit over my LS6 valley oer with no problems. Both my FAST 90 and my LS6 valley cover came with new bolts (valley cover had low profile, rounded hex head screws, fast had Button head cap screws), I forget which ones I used.

Yeah, those are some talls screws on your valley cover. Did you use new intake gaskets or reuse your old?

You'll definitely need to change out your fasteners.
