Default Ls1 Intake Vs Ls6 Intake

Is the ls6 intake any good? how much of a gain can i expect? Which one is the best bang for the buck? I know there is the lsx, gm, bbk, and i believe and edelbrock version?

depends on what mods you already have and how much you're willing to spend. The LS6 is just as good as the bbk and you can pick one up for around $300 used. If you're going with all the bolt-ons and a big cam or heads/cam/boltons then the FAST will net you around 10-15 RWHP more than the LS6, if you get it ported then around 25 more than the LS6.

it's a great part, low cost works fine good easy 10-15 whp.

IMHO bang for buck it's one of the best parts, but as far as intake manis go bang for buck it's the highest.

Search you can see the ups and downs of the bbk tyhpoon etc.

Fast is pretty much like a "better" version of the ls6 cost is a good deal higher though.

LS2 is been kinda over looked as it's not as good as the ls6 but with porting some have put great # and it fits a 90mm TB.

i did cam and heads last summer and had purchased an ls2 intake also when i took the car into the shop i was told that the 90mm tb was overkill that the stocker could handle 400-500 hp? any truth or did someone feed me a great line. I sent the ls2 back.

You're heads/cam so no the 90mm is not overkill...you were fed a line. The 90/90 setup is definitely worthwile if you're heads/cam and you stand to gain around 15-20 over the LS6 as I said before.

If you have an LS2 intake manifold, then you have to have a 90mm TB. Might as well upgrade to the FAST 90 intake.

Tests have shown worse numbers out of the LS2 than the LS6.
