I have some 6-ton jackstands that go up plenty high. They are harder to carry around than my 3-ton's, but you could set the world on one of them. Here's a pic from installing my friends Kooks. We had to get the collector damn near vertical to get them in. It could have been done quickly without the jackstands (car just sitting on the jack/phone book), but I wouldn't do it. I removed/installed my pacesetters a BUNCH of times with just full extended jack height. I suggest you remove all but 2 bolts from each side of the headers before jacking the car up. It's a PITA to remove bolts from the manifolds while standing on ****.

On all of the header installs we have done we have used 6 ton jack stands just about fully extended. It's a good idea to get the front of the car between 22-24" in the air.

Get it as high as possible, you'll thank yourself later. I do strongly suggest you get remove all but 2 bolts on each side. You can't loosen them though, because they will need to be secured while you break the cat bolts off (they will probably break, but it's ok).

Patience! I usually try to break them with a regular wrench, but then I have some stubby ratcheting ones that I use once the torque is broken.

the back bolt on the pass. side is really easy to reach from underneath....

and dont be scared of breaking the bolts on the cats.. it actually makes it alot easier... all but 1 (the top bolt pass side) broke on my car and i could barely even budge it.. i twisted 2 extensions 180* using a large wrench as leverage..

everything is going good with the headers i got the car up a little higher and the passenger side slides right in....the driver side i think ill only have to remove the oil filter.....however i am swapping trans's too and now i got the master cylindr for the clutch jammed in between the wheel well and the firewall! i forgot to take thar little bracket off that bolts it onto the firewall! now i cant even get it back in!
