Talking Installed Obx Header Info!!

WELL I FINALLY GOT MY TA BACK. I HAD THE OBX HEADERS INSTALLED WITH MAGNAFLOW CAT BACK AND A 373 REAR END. THERE IS A VERY NOTICABLE DIFFERENCE IN THE CAR. THE OBX HEADERS BOLTED UP PERFECT WITH ONLY HAVING TO CUT THE Y PIPE A LITTLE. THERE ARE NO CATS ONLY RESONATORS AND ALL OF THE PIECES IN THE KIT ARE HIGH QUALITY FROM WHAT THE PERFORMACE SHOP TOLD ME ( I DID NOT INSTALL THEM MYSELF). THE WHOLE SET IS STAINLESS STEEL ALONG WITH THE MAGNAFLOW. HERE ARE SOME OF THE PICS AND A VID OF THE SOUND.
I KNOW THERE WAS ALOT OF TALK ABOUT THESE AND AS FAR AS I KNOW I GUESS I AM THE GUINEA PIG. THE CAR SOUNDS GREAT AND THE THROTTLE RESPONSE IS NIGHT AND DAY DIFFERENCE. WHEN I GET A CHANCE I WILL HAVE THE CAR DYNO DONE AND POST RESULTS IN THIS THREAD.

You have to host it somewhere. We can do it here as well. Try that or streetfire, photobucket, ect.

they sound nice but yea, that pipe is like an inch off the ground! is your car lowered to begin with? also, what are resonators? are they just like empty pipes that go where the cats are supposed to be so you could pass a visual inspection? or do they actually do something that would either add or take away some hp?

Here are some pics of the y-pipe when I am parked on a level surface. The first clearance pic I was parked on a hill.

Are these headers mids or longs? Who is their parent company? It looks like a lot of piecing together, isn't that a greater chance for exhaust leaks? What about holes for O2 sensors, i didn't see any?

They are considered longtube and they have all of the holes for the O2 sensors. Because there are no cats I am going to have the ses rear O2 codes deleted this week. They are made by OBX.

OBX is the knock off king. Do a search on OBX at the sport compact boards and see what you get. No customer service, cracked welds etc. The list goes on. Why do you think they are going into the f body market? Answer cause the sport compact guys wised up.

Please post dyno numbers when you get them.

Keep us updated on how they hold up.

As far as being a knock off maybe, so why pay more for the same quality????
I have no cracked welds and how much customer support do you need for headers ( you just bolt them on and use the right type gasket so they dont blow) what would you ask support, " Are they working?". And I do not surf sport (rice) compact forums. As far as the dyno goes I am going to try have it done next month.

yeh i can see the FLP design from looking at them. stupid low hanging y-pipe. thats why i trashed mine, lol. I went with kooks headers 1 3/4 and kooks y-pipe. GAINED at LEAST 1 inch of ground clearance from regular slp y-pipe

nice setup. i hate that you have to deal with that low of ground clearance, maybe you will be able to do something with that and possibly get a different set

I think that the Y Pipe can be changed (in rotation of some of the pipes, since it is slip-fit) to not hang so low. I think I will be pruchasing a set of these too.

Look for upcoming pics of my install soon.
