Default Solid motor mount guys...

...what do you think of them? I searched and read stickies, but I didn't see much input from people who are using these. Found that most use poly.
Also, how was the install?

-My car is a non DD, cam/heads/high stall/LT's and true duals. I've got way too much flex and rubbing down below!

I'm redoing my exhaust, and for ground clearance i want less flex for higher mounting.
What are the Cons other than vibration?

I love my solids. I have the Spohn's with a poly trans mount. Work like a charm! less rattles, but sometimes it will jar your teeth on some bumps!

Same here, no problems. TTT

If you do get spohn's. Good design, and great guys to deal with.

I have them. If you have clutch chatter, I highly suggest getting solids. They don't allow the engine to move back and forth. I now have zero chatter.

On the other hand, I have some extra interior vibration. At idle, the gauge bezel will vibrate along with the radio bezel. This all goes away once I get to driving.

I say go for the Spohn light weight motor mount stands with poly bushings. Still will hold the motor down with out rattling your brain when driving.

Have you driven a car with solids? The only time mine vibrates is IF I have to feather the clutch (like driving in traffic, leaving a stop sign) but I hardly notice them.

I don't see how one could need a more solid mount than poly??? Even with a donkey dick cam I couldn't see the motor move in my heavy iron 408 gto and poly mounts.

Funny, I have no vibration in the cabin, and the only thing I get vibrations from is clutch chatter, lol. (CFDF clutch)

I take that back, at about 70 mph my gauge bezel had a slight vibration, but I used felt strips behind it (where it contacs the dash pad) and it got rid of it totally.

Another spohn solid mount owner here. I love them, install went easy, but I have deleted P/S, AC and abunch of other crap. If those were there, it might make it harder? No vibrations, running a MS3 with 4400 converter in a LQ9. Never noticed my engine moving either, until I saw some front angle pics of my car launching....wow tranny pan was bad tweaked.. These defenatly solved that problem. I say get 'um.

Don't know? Might be one of those "old man tricks" lol. Spohn don't say anything about that, and I like knowing my bolts are tight and a piece of rubber isn't what is controlling load on my engine mount bolts... Stick with what's proven.

Never had a problem here....everyone thinks these things are the devil! That is except for the people that man-up and run them.
