Default shave TB screws or leave them?

My TB shaft is cut in half and now there is a little over an 1/8in that sticks out, I want to cut them down but if I do so the screws will never be able come out or go back in b/c the end will be messed from where they get cut. What should I do? Don't want to regret this. Thanks.

I figure it's like polishing, not really gaining any hp but every little bit counts, right?

I cut mine off, and I've already been able to take them out and put them back in a few times to adjust the blade.

don't do it man, tainted has it right. its not worth any "potential" gain and nobodys going to see it anyway. you MIGHT be able to take it apart, but what if you CAN'T? I figure Luna got lucky. But again, even if you get lucky too, really, the potential gain doesn't outweight the potential loss. Just my .02

I just grind them off with a grinder. Yes you will be able to take them out as many times as you want and still get them back in. I have been porting corvette throttle bodys for almost a year now and have had them in and out many times with no problems at all. It also looks alot better.

what i did was took the blade and shaft out, assembled outside the throttle body and cut the bolts that way, no rough edges, no problems with the screws, probably not worth anything but it gave me a little bit more satisfaction at the time, plus it was a break from all the sanding and stuff...

I just used a sanding drum to grind them down. As mentioned it will not affect getting the screws in or out.

You will still be able to take them out. Its just like when you shorten a bolt, you always have the nut on there so that after you cut it you take the nut off and it takes the burs off.

I used a tiny cutoff wheel and my Dremel to cut mine off. Always use some blue loctite when re-installing the blade screws, it would BLOW if one of those bastards fell out.

Put the blade on the shaft out of the throttle body and grind them off. Then remove and use loctite during reassembly. The red loctite is pretty extreme for the little screws used here. Blue is probably sufficient.

I have to make sure they dont come out....I know how some of you drive
Besides, Ive never had an issue taking them back out again for a fresher-up-er But thats me, I see nothing wrong with a do-it-yourselfer using the blue.

I use blue....... danger...... is my MIDDLE name...

The red loctite isn't a bad idea. You can always torch the shaft to unlock it if they ever got REALLY stuck.
