Default Edelbrock LT fitment problem

I am installing the fully welded Edelbrock stepped headers....trans, clutch, and bell are all out of the car. Replaced motor mounts, installed dr side header and the primary is sitting on the motor mount pedestal. I realize that I still have to put the trans in and the angle will change, but the headers tilt with the engine, so I don't expect it to affect things much.

What do I do, hammer on the primary and dent it? Leave it?

AW

Not too sure man...mine went in fine......maybe u got a bad one...never heard of any problems with them so far on this or other boards though....I am sure if u have to dent it a little bit, it surely shouldn't hurt any......

Measure twice, dent one. Make sure it is actually going to hit that before you go banging it up.

I realize that, but the motor mount pedestal doesn't move regarless of the load on the clamshell. The way its contacting, its only going to get worse as the engine tilts back. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see it getting better

How close to the bottom of the oil pan do the headers hang?

They tuck up pretty well, I will measure next time I'm out in the garage...

I finished up the install of my parts and the primary on the drivers side came off the pedestal, but by less than 1/16"....you can barely see daylight. I will leave it alone for now and check it after a few miles.
