Default Pacesetter LT Headers

I just bought Pacesetter headers today (racestyle). I was wondering if I would need any kind of block off plates...I know I'm going to have to plug the hole on my EGR LS6 intake? I'll be buying a catted-Y soon. Will I need two 24" extensions and 2 O2 sims? Basically I wanted to know what ALLLL will I need to install the headers? I already have all the tools...I was also planning on buying some new gaskets(OEM). Your help is appreciated!!!

If you got race headers(no air fittings) then you dont need any block off plates. I assume you will be removing all of the smog mumbo jumbo.as far as the egr...you have one on an ls6 intake? yes you will need o2 extentions and be careful and only install the front oem o2 sensors from your stock exhaust, at the end of the pace headers(at the collector) do not mix'em up! I recommend holding out on the o2 simulators cause I recommend a tune bro cause I am running rich! when you get a tune you can have the rear o2 sensors deleted! I would save the 100 or so for a tune just my .02 cents good luck!!
ps jack the car as high and safely as possible, remove your plugs(so you dont crackem),and be careful with the sensor which is located on the drivers side in front of cyl#1!,and make sure all wires and plugs are on right, they say to upgrade the motor mounts so the ypipe doesn't bang(mines does)while the headers are out,and they slide right up with no problem.

Yes, I do have the EGR LS6 intake from SLP...I just read that you have to take out your oil filter when installing headers.

If you ordered "race" headers then it has no provisions or fittings for any "smog connectors". No you do not need to take the oil filter out, the filter is about 1/2 in from one of the primaries, i would leave it on so I know I got a good fitting header. I will try to find some pics so you know what a race style header looks like.

You shouldn't need to remove the oil filter. I just had my Pacesetters installed, and the filter stayed in the whole time.

I see now that I wasn't the first to respond. One thing you will need to take out is the oil dipstick.

AJ....you will need to block off the egr that is on the manifold. You dont need to take off the oil filter like mentioned above.

I'm sure you dont plan on getting a tune until you buy your cam so i would buy the 02 sims or call synergy and ask how much they charge to delete codes. If it is cheper than buying the sims then go to synergy.

And you might as well by new plugs and replace them while the headers are off.

I already have new spark plugs and new wires, but I'll just need 1- block off plate for the EGR right? Where can I get the freeze plug for my LS6 intake(EGR)?

you don't need a freeze plug/block off plate for the ls6 manifold, it has no provisions for egr

My LS6 intake has provisions...Its from SLP! If I delete my EGR/AIR won't I need a block off plate for the EGR? That's what I was reading, but I keep reading different ****.
