Default FAST 78mm vs LS6

Search is currently being work on by Brians so I really can't use it right now.

I'm wondering how the FAST 78mm intake compares to the LS6. I don't care about the cost differences and would just like to know how much extra hp you can pick up from the FAST over the LS6. (I currently have the LS1 intake so I need a new one no matter what).

The car has all the bolton's and a cam. The cam's intake/duration are both in the 230's so it's nothing crazy but still a strong cam.

Again I don't care about the price differences(I found a great deal on a brand new FAST78mm so the price isn't that big of a difference) and I don't need a 90mm by any means yet and honestly never will as I don't need to make tons of power to enjoy my car.

honestly id buy the ls6 if cheaper than the 78 fast but if they are almost the same go with the fast 78. if u were going to pay full price for the fast id go with the 90.

Basicly it's going to be an extra $100 or so for the 78 over the LS6. I'm thinking it's going to be worth it because it's one of those things you can't go back and redo for this price. Plus if I was ever to really go all out on the car and needed the 90mm one I could sell the 78 for a lot more than the LS6.

I'm just curious as to what kind of gains there would be with the 78 over the LS6 on a 231/239 type cam.

i'd definately go with the FAST! like you said - if you didn't want it, you can sell it and actually make money off it lol.

yeah now that u said that fast 78 if u can get that good of a deal on it def the 78 then ur right u could always go back to sell it and it will hold its value more than the ls6. as far as gains not much would be my guess maybe 4 or 5 hp over the ls6 with a big if that.

Alright well I just gave the guy the money for the intake.
I'm giving my already ported/polished tb to http://www.performancethrottlebodies.com/ to take a look at and see if he can do anything else to it to make it better.

I gained 10.7 HP but I lost 7.3 lbs of torque with my FAST 78 and ported TB over the LS6 I had. Good think I only paid $100 for it!

Same dyno but different days. 10 HP is more than the usual "different days" defense. Can't say I felt any gains but I managed to get a hell of a deal so it only cost me $100 (net).

As for my gains, I'm not sure of the question. As I posted I gained 10 HP but lost 7 in the Tq dept. The only changes I made were the FAST and a ported stock TB.

Thanks but I doubt I'll ditch it. The gains from moving to a 90 aren't there and I will eventually get a set of heads to really take advantage of the FAST.
