So I got offered to trade straight up my used LS6 manifold with my PP throttle body for a BRAND NEW polished Professional Products typhoon intake manifold with a new polished 85mm Throttle body....so my question is.....Is it worth it? I have heard of alot of people having reported actual power losses when switching from an LS6 to a typhoon but Professional Products' website claims like a 17hp gain????? So should i do it or what?

I've heard about power losses with the typhoon also.

I would just stick with the LS6. I know the typhoon will look better with that polished look, but I think the LS6 performs better.

The question you should ask yourself is why does this person want to trade this particular setup? The ported throttle body and LS6 intake are a proven combo. I certainly wouldn't trade it.

EXACTLY. No sane person would trade their Ferrari straight up for a Corvette. I think you actually answered the question yourself when you said their have been people who lost power. If looks are more important to you then screw the 5hp, go with the Typhoon. You won't feel the power loss anyway, lol. Take a look at the gaskets before you trade as well, or make it a contigency that you will only do it if it doesn't leak like a sonofabitch. Good luck!
