I was a TB skeptic....
I was a TB skeptic...before tonite.
I finally bit the bullet on a mod that I wasnt very confident in. TBs always worked great on previous cars..but never cared to do it on this, or my previous SS.
So tonite, I installed my "S"TB. I was a bit concerned at first rev of the engine. I thought he may have sent me a TB meant for a VTEC...it sure revved like one!!! <---Good thing! Idle was fine right away, no issues, about 75rpms higher than normal. Throttle response, HUGE difference. low-mid range..definite increase. Not so sure about high rpms yet.
Anyway..if all goes well Ill see the track tomorrow nite and add to this post.
So its your choice...go to the bar, find a cutie, spend about $130 on you & her for the nite, go home and get a STD
or
Take that $130, buy a "S"TB...go out Friday nite and make it to a cuter girls house quicker!

Re: I was a TB skeptic....
What is the typical track improvment for a H/C/I car or the same car on a dyno for a ported TB?
I thought I had read that it was 5-7hp peak on the dyno.

Re: I was a TB skeptic....
I just got my "B" (Bauer)TB in last night and so far the car is running good, just started it up and let it idle for a while, hopefully will get to see the real results tonight when driving around.

I was planning on buying Bauer's ported TB. Powder coated in bright red, and hopefully my calipers too. Right now I just have a lid, MAF, and catback so I think I'll spend my savings on the 10% off sale that FLPs having right now Can't wait to get one though..

A ported TB is just one of those items that in and of itself ain't gonna make a big difference - but is an important part of an overall package. I'm happy with mine (Bauer)!
