well besides the fact that you probably dont have traction control. The system has an ASR button in the Firebirds. The button if you have traction control would be by down by the shifter. Where as the camaros have it above the radio.

Low traction light? I dont think you have tcs....its just a light that comes on saying you have low traction.

If you had TC when the tires spun the accelerator pedal would push back on your foot and the car would fall on its face.

I think what your talking about here is wheel hop. Has nothing to do with your TCS at all, happens to almost all of us at sometime with stock suspension.

If you did have TC then as soon as you lost traction your engine would bog down and your accel. pedal would pulsate hence stopping wheel spin and giving you traction. If this is the case for you, and you have no way of shutting it off, well that pretty much sucks.

Sure you don't have a "fake" ta? Or maybe the firebird formula with the ls1 didn't offer tcs... just my 2cents

No, you could order a T/A or Z28 without TCS/ASR.

All gauge clusters will have the spot for "ASR OFF", but this just won't ever light up on a non-TCS/ASR car. GM just produces one gauge cluster instead of having one for each option.

The LOW TRAC light will come on whenever it senses wheel slippage, but the PCM will not do anything about it unless you have an ASR-equipped car with the system on.
