2.75" exhaust pipe adapter
I just bought a bullet muffler and I need an adapter to go from the 3" muffler to the 2.75" pipe on my car. Anyone know where I can get one pre-made or am I stuck going to a muffler shop to get it custom made? TIA

Re: 2.75" exhaust pipe adapter
If you take it to a muffler shop they'll probably do what they did when they installed one on my car. They just cut the section of pipe out, slide the 2.75" pipe in either end of the bullet, and welded it back up. Since it's only a 1/4 of an inch it should be alright if they just slide the 2.75" pipe inside the 3 and weld it that way.

Re: 2.75
get a couple pieces of 3" pipe about 2 inches long each. slide them over the 2 3/4 pipe then the bullet will slide over the 3" pieces and weld accordingly. works like a charm

Re: 2.75
Any auto part store with its salt should have a piece like this available:
Believe me, there are no auto parts stores worth their salt around here...I called five different stores and no one had anything over 2.5"
I guess I'll just take it to a muffler shop. Kinda sux cause I have access to a welder, but I can't weld on the car itself (long story) so if I could get this adapter and a 3" turndown, I'd be set. Oh, well.

Re: 2.75
An exhaust shop should be able to spread a 2.5" pipe to 2.75 and 3.00 inches. When we did my cutout we did used a 2.5" pipe spread out to 3" at the the flange so my cap would fit.
