Default question about fast 78mm intake...

I know on a ls6 intake you can grind the ribs off so you don't have to run the ls6 coolant pipes and plugs, but how about the fast 78mm?? Are there any ribs to grind or will it fit without any modification. It will be going on a 98 Z and I don't want to change the coolant tubes. TIA

Don't waste your $$$$ on the 78, get the 90 or just get a LS6.

I can get the 78 for the same price as a ls6 and could pick it up tomorrow. I know there's no gain to speak of between the two, I'm just curious about the installation only.

It won't install without the LS6 lines. I don't know if you can grind it down or not, can't remeber what the bottom looks like, ( I think it was smooth). As far as the diff between the 90 and the 78 - The only change between the two is the TB opening. I think the gain from an LS6 to a Fast 78, out of the box, is about 8hp. 18 if Mamo ports it...

You have to use different valley cover bolts for the Fast 90, so you may need them for a 78MM also. It might be good to call Fast and find out for sure.

You need the coolant tubes, and the valley bolts to do it. I just took my 78mm off and put on a 90 but when i changed from the ls1 intake to the 78mm I had to change all that.

+1 to what 98Nosz28 said!

You will see gains from the 78 MM I picked up 10 HP after adjusting my tune with a TR224 cam and stock 241 heads.
