Default squeeky problem! PLEASE help

My car squeeks like crazy when I turn on the air conditioner it also only seems to happen under load. Do I need to replace something or oil something or what? It is emarassing enough that I don't turn on my ac most of the time.

If you think it's coming from the AC belt you could try belt dressing, if it was me I think I'd change the belt.

It sounds more like it is coming from the compressor.

Spray some soapy water on the AC belt, then start it up. If the noise goes away for a short time it's probably the AC belt.

The AC runs on a separate drive belt with its own tensioner. Check for oil or other contamination on the belt, replace the belt if necessary.

Thank you guys I will definately put more emphasis on the belt. I am just hoping that I don't have to replace any expensive parts.

I hope you donot have the problem i do. I had my ac recharged and the shop must not have put any oil in the system. My compressor makes a terrible screeching noise now. I added oil but it is too late the pump is shot. If the belt dressing does not work try to reoil your ac system. best of luck
