on my 99 ss do i have A.I.R. and egr? or just one or the other?

No you have to remove them. Search for it. there is alot written up on them. i wouldnt do it until you are in the market to buy a new set up headers though. and then when you want a new intake manifold your all set, no egr.

EGR - laymens terms....its that funky hose thingy that goes in front of the intake manifold. It measures "stuff"

AIR - is basically an emissions thing. The two hoses that run up the (inside the engine bay) and breaks all the time

ok so if i ever install an ls6 manifold, i'll have to delete the egr anyway?

Yes. Here check this link out. Its a sticky. Read up on this and it will clear things up alot better for you I think. THere are some pics in there also so it will diagram where we are talking about. AIR and EGR does nothing to performance in my opinion. EGR maybe a little, but nothing significantly. Here is the link.
