Possible to install flywheels backwards?

Mine looks like this as of right now. The clutch surface is on the side with the clutch and the backside looks like it hasnt been machined. This is the only way I would think that the flywheel should go on.. so.. the starter is about 3/4" away from where it should be. Its pulled back that far..

HAH!
Figured out that problem.
Didnt know that there was a flexplate adapter on the end of the crank! Came stock on the Chevy truck that the engine came out of. Had no clue it was on there until I accidentally put a bolt in the wrong hole and it pushed the adapter off a small amount.
Hopefully this could help someone a whole lot later on.

I just couldnt figured out any other reason at all.. that the flywheel that is the same for an LS1 LS2 5.3 4.8 and 6.0 was not lining up with my starter... Just was considering all options at the time, because I was about to go nuts.
